Vacation Time!!

So guys my first official vacation of the summer is set to take place this coming week. Although not technically a "true" vacation (since I am not going anywheres new) still a new vacation for me. I am headed home, which means I am going to Michigan ( the land I hail from!) for 10 days. I am very much looking forward to seeing my family, whom I havent seen since thanksgiving, when I spent 3 days there helping my sister pick out her wedding dress. I will have a bunch of new tutorial for you guys when I get back. Enjoy the end of June!!!

A weekend Makeover

So I did something a little drastic over the weekend. I was a looking to do something new and different for summer. For those of you who watch my YouTube videos you know I hate spending a lot of time in the bathroom, simply because I don't have the patience to sit and fiddle with things for a long time, and my hair has been getting a little out of control lately soooooooo........

This is what happened! I am totally in love with the color, its a little red, a little brown (for those of you who don't know my natural color is medium brown) The cut is short in back a little bit longer in the front with side swept bangs (which you cant see in this picture) I am loving the short straightening time and the small amount of shampoo and conditioner I now use! In all a successful trip to the hair salon!

It's A Beautiful life

It was an absolutely beautiful weekend here in NY! I spent part of it in Long Island for a wedding and was pleased that the weather stayed nice for the whole weekend. I happen to love connecting with Mother nature and could not be more pleased with the way she has been treating us New Yorkers the past couple of weeks! Get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather!!

P.s These pictures were takein with my brand new camera which I am absolutly in love with

Be Purpleicious

Color always brightens up my day! This pop of purple works well together and makes me feel as though summer if finally here! I used a Palette I purchased from Ulta a couple weeks ago, three colors that work well together. There is two ways this look would work, you could wear it with a light base (as I did in these pictures and the tutorial) for a light look or you could do a dark base (like Construtivist from MAC) for a darker more intense look. Don't be afraid to give extreme color a try, from experiments the best looks can be achieved. Remember keep it simple, keep it easy, but keep it fun!

Products used:
NYX trio of colors, Purples
Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero
Maybelline Turbo Volume Mascara
L'oreal True blend foundation-Not pictured
MAC Well Dressed Blush
MAC Underage Lipgloss

Your So UD Dangerous

Things have been crazy hectic lately, summer is on the way and school is winding down. It has been so hot here in NY and humid. I have been wanting to do a look that is a little more dramatic when it comes to the lashes. When I saw this palette at Ulta I knew just what I was going to do with it. The 6 colors in the palette are great companions to each other but can also be used with other colors, very versatile. It also came with a travel size of primer potion in Greed as well as a liner in the color rockstar. I choose to go with soft eyes and BIG, bold, dramatic lashes. I don't normally wear false lashes but this look certainly demanded that I wear them. I am not particularly confident in my false lash applying skills yet but I keep praticing and get better each time. This look was so simple to create, and don't worry if you don't have the exact same colors simply work with what you have. Remember keep it simple, keep it easy, but keep it fun!!

Keeping it all in its Proper Place

So one of my flaws (one that I am willing to admit to anyways) is that I am obsessed with keeping my things organized. My room and bathroom are always neat and orderly, and I am always on the look out for nifty things I can use to organize my things. When I started my makeup collection I watched tons of videos on YouTube on how other people keep their collections organized, I used some of their ideas but also did what works best for me. Walmart and Target are by best friends and I am constantly purusing the asiles on organization and surprisingly the kitchen area as well. You never know what you will find! My best advice is to find what works best for you, and look for things that are multifuctional and fit your personal style (you will see that I have some Halloween stuff that I used, because I absolutly love Halloween!). Below are some pictures of my collection, and you can find a video tour of my bathroom on my YouTube Channel http://www.youtube.com/user/ThatGreeneyedGirl24?feature=mhee

The clear basket, is where I keep all my blushes and came as part of a set I found in the kitchen section of Target

I hold all of my pencils (eyeliners, jumbo eyeshadows) and Mascara's in candle holders I bought from Yankee Candle

This is one of those drawered organizers you can get from from any hobby store.
The glass jars I got from Walmart (you can also find them at Michaels or other hobby stores) and simply hot glued a ribbon onto it, a simple step or dress it up a little. I filled them with Bean bag filler, its perfect for keeping my brushes upright and orderly.
This is where I keep all my pigments and smaller paletts. I keep the pigment jars upside down so I can see both the names and the color.

Inspired by Julia

Julia Roberts that is! This look was inspired by her Lancome ad. I absolutely love this look, its so simple to recreate and is perfect for dinner out, or for looking just a little more polished and sophisticated. This uses a little more products then I normally use, but its so worth it for just the right amount of GLAMOROUS!! Remember keep it simple, keep it easy, but keep it fun!!
