The Wednesday Night Special...

Whats for dinner? A steaming cup of self-pity with a side order of loathing please. It has seriously been one of those days. I am in SERIOUS need of a distraction, why o' why can't baseball season start already :( I am craving some grass stained baseball uniforms and fast-ball statistics. I am not sure about any of you but I am not usually the type of person who lets things bother me for long, but occasionally news (usually that of the bad variety) has the power to lay me low for a couple of days. I am dealing with that this week. I am battling a head full of "What-ifs" and a heart bursting with "denial". I am just all around SAD, which is a strange feeling for me to be lugging around. *Shake *Shake *Shake I have to shake this off.... A drink I really need a drink. Too bad its the middle of the week and I have to work tomorrow. On another note a student from the college I attend sent me an email saying that he too was recommended for a Internship (a professor I had last semester wrote a letter of recommendation on my be haft, and without my knowledge, for a international internship) he is going this summer, while I chose to wait another year till I was done with school. He got my email from the professor and hoped that I would be able to help him with some of the ins and outs of navigating the process. It was exciting to hear all about the fun things he is going to get to do and I am really looking forward to my opportunity now. That helped bring some light into my week. So I guess that is the moral of this post. Sometimes you can be completely unaware of how a little thing you do might affect a persons day. People are always commenting on the fact that I smile at everyone and say "have a great day" to the toll booth workers, or whoever else happens to be in my path that day. But I always feel like you never know how a smile or a kind word might change a sad moment for someone into a happy one. So Smile people and remember that reaching out not only goes a long way for your soul, but for someone Else's as well.

• I am really groovin on the song "Its over (Goodbye)" by Jared Lee right now. 
• So pathetic am I for any sort of baseball news that I have taken to stalking the Yankees (and other baseball players) on twitter. Chris Dickerson is so hilarious and its wonderful to know that not only is he a great player but also has a great personality! 
• The Chai Tea for the Keruig machine (I think I mentioned this a couple of days ago) is glorious, I definitely recommend it to anyone who has a Keurig coffee machine, SO worth it!  

It's a Honeycombs Kind of Night....

Today was basically the same as yesterday. 2 kids with fevers, no homework done, and a couple games of words with friends. The same old same old. Hittin the books again tonight, while I watch Anthony Bourdain.

And then its Monday Again...

What the heck happened to my weekend. Where did it go? I can't even remember most of what I did and now its back to work and the daily grind of the week. Today I am dealing with Two sick kids who are both running fevers and have sore throats and a third kid who is very unforgiving when it comes to others being sick (since he very rarely gets sick he seems to think they should still be able to play with him even when they are napping on the couch :) So needless to say it has been a very busy day. And actually I didn't get any work done for school today, so I need really to hit the books hard tonight.

• I am still loving "Words with Friends" I had honestly never played scrabble before playing this game and now I am an addict!
• I enjoyed a pack, yes that's right I said an entire pack, of Birthday Cake Oreo's last night. They were good but not great. But the smell was incredible it seriously smelled like a cake was hanging out on my desk :)
• I having been watching some of the movies I bought from Blockbuster. Next up Marie Antoinette!

Saturday Night Fever

Today was a pretty fun day. Aside from the 5:45 wake up call for a math class I didn't want to attend. For some reason I had a really hard time dragging my butt out of bed to class this morning. I really wanted to stay in bed and sleep away my morning. I just had to keep remembering that I only have 3 more week till spring break and then I can have 1 day to sleep in :) As for what I did the rest of day, I got my coffee and a bit of work in at the coffee shop. Then Mr.Friday met me for lunch at a new sushi place, where I had the most amazing Mango sushi ever! And then we did a bit of walking around at the mall and then spent the better part of the afternoon trying to one up each other on the bowling lanes. I can admit when I suck at something.... and I completely suck at bowling. For some reason the logistics of bowling escape me, I can't seem to get my brain and my arm to do the same thing. Its confounding. Afterwards we did dinner at a brick oven pizza place that had wonderful Margarita pizza. All in all it was a pretty good day!

Steph's Tidbits:

• My cat for some reason has a fascination with loaves of Bread. She has literally been chewing on the bags that they are in. I have had to but all bread products in the pantry, up where she can't reach them. She is so Crazy!
• I was going to see "This Means War" tonight, but decided against it for the more exciting process of working on research for a project.
• I am totally addicted to "Words with Friends"! Who wants to play!!

Finally Friday!

My cat needs a vacation too. Its been a very long week. I am on top of my homework for once but it still has been a rough week. I am ready for a morning to sleep in and a day of relaxing and doing nothing for a little while. But before that can happen I have class tomorrow, and a project for my ECON class to finish. This morning I woke up to a bit of a snowstorm and a two hour delay for the kiddos. I had to go to Target for some shampoo and ended up coming home with WAY more than just shampoo. I seriously can not go to Target without stopping by the E.L.F section, and I picked up a new blush, eyeshadow, and concealer (all for only 5 bucks, can't beat that!). I also got a new pair of jeans and these really cute shoes;


I will admit that I got them in the little girls section of the shoe department. I actually have kind of small feet ha ha!! I also have been looking for a sunny yellow nail polish and found exactly what I was looking for!



This color makes me feel happy even when the sun isn't out! But I am not sure its something I can wear for the long term, its a little TOO happy for me. Other than that I don't really have any news. Follow me on Twitter for more random facts :@thatgreengirl24

• This weeks episode of FACE OFF on the Sfy channel was really good, its amazing what these people can do with makeup!
• The Oscars are this weekend, are you getting dressed up?
• One things I can't stand is Commercials, Thank goodness they came up with TiVo that way I can fast forward through all of them!

The Loneliest day of the Week

Wednesday is like the red headed stepchild that no mother could ever love. At least that's how I feel about Wednesdays. But today is a little bit different since today is Mr. Friday's B-day!!!! I love celebrating other people's birthdays! My own on the other hand I wish I could just X it out on the calendar and pretend it doesn't exist. • Since today is the beginning of Lent, while I am not Catholic, it has got me thinking about what I would give up if I was. What are you guys giving up for Lent?
• I am in L O V E with my new Chi tea cups for my Keurig coffee machine. They are SOOOOO Yummy!
• Watching Sleepless in Seattle tonight, I just adore that movie. Normally I am not one for sappy love stories but this is just so innocent!

Tuesdays are Gleeful...

At least they were until I watched this weeks episode of Glee. I won't spoil it just in case some of you haven't seen it yet. But man o man. I can't believe they are going to make us wait until April 10th for a new episode. Other than that I have no real news to share with you guys. I am chugging away at my homework. And just started a pretty good new book, it's called "The Volunteer" I can't remember the author off hand but so far I am five chapters in and really enjoying it. Hope you guys had a great Fat Tuesday!

• Today is Fat Tuesday, That means a big Mexican dinner for me! I am not Catholic but any chance to engage in a little food therapy is alright by me!

Girl on Fire!~!

Wahoo! I am a girl on fire.... okay yes that was a totally cheesy play on words (but since I recently finished the "Hunger Games" novels I thought it was fitting!) I have been such a Good girl lately that I rewarded myself with the purchase of a Kindle Fire today!

I was so excited for a couple of different reasons. 1 being that I am an avid reader, I have ibooks on my Ipod touch but if any of you are familiar with that program you know that its really small and zooming in only makes it so that only a couple of sentances fit on one page. The Fire is great because its almost the same size as a real book and flows easily from one page to another. 2 because e-textbooks are quite a bit cheaper than buying the actually thing, and I will be able to take them with me to the gym, appoitments etc... and not feel like a total loser for having a huge book sitting on my lap. Not only that but you can actually highlight on the page and make annotations which is great since I am a HUGE note taker. And 3rd because it not only is an e-reader but also a video player which means that I can watch my netfilx on my Fire and do my homework at the same time, My Wii which also has the streaming of netflix on it, is on the big screen in our house, which is coinsidentialy not in my bedroom). My mom is actually going to be getting one of these later on in the week so we can link ours to the same prime account and both get the benifits of having one of these! Hope you all enjoyed your extra day off this week!

• I am feeling almost 100% better after this weekend, although I still have not regained my appitite. It's been mostly Water for me today.
• I wactched 50/50 last night. It was a decent movie (I really like Seth Rogan, he is So funny in Knocked up!) but it also made me very angry with the medical industry, especially since this was based on a real life experience
• I am starting the countdown to when I leave for a weeks vacation in Flordia! only 47 more days!!
